This is an opportunity to join the Huntsville engineering organization as the site's key BIOS/UEFI specialist, working closely with hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software engineers on next-generation embedded computing products.

Your Role with the Company -New Product Development
As a Senior BIOS / UEFI Engineer, you will develop and customize BIOS for new products that are rugged embedded computing platforms. You will work from an AMI/Intel reference BIOS, adapt it to new hardware, and support BIOS bring-up alongside the hardware and firmware teams.
Your work will include:
- Developing and customizing UEFI BIOS for new products.
- Performing BIOS bring-up on newly designed boards.
- Debugging hardware/firmware issues during initial board startup.
- Working with hardware, FPGA, and other firmware engineers to validate system functionality.
- Supporting interfaces such as USB, PCI Express, SATA, and other board-level functionality.
- Taking BIOS development from initial bring-up through production.
Background Profile
Must Have
- 5+ years of hands-on BIOS development experience. (will consider less for exceptional background)
- Strong experience developing UEFI BIOS; modern UEFI experience is required rather than legacy BIOS exposure alone.
- Demonstrated experience personally developing BIOS, not simply working with systems that use BIOS.
- Experience with BIOS bring-up on newly designed hardware.
- Experience where the candidate's BIOS actually ran on the board they helped bring up.
- Strong working proficiency in C.
- Ability to perform low-level programming involving registers, memory, and peripherals.
- Experience customizing or porting BIOS to new hardware.
- Strong understanding of hardware/firmware interaction.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and firmware integration issues during board bring-up.
- Ability to work directly with hardware engineers and other engineering disciplines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness and ability to work full-time on-site in Huntsville, Alabama.
