About this role
The Claims Analyst team works in close partnership with SCOR’s Operations, Claims and Technical Accounting Teams in line with SCOR’s claims handling philosophy.
The Senior Claims Analyst will have assigned accounts/Lines of Business and is primarily responsible for independently reviewing, validating, adjusting (within authority) or routing (re)insurance claims to ensure they are handled accurately, fairly, and in line with policy terms, authority limits, and regulatory expectations in accordance to SCOR’s Claims Handling Philosophy
This client-focused position requires a strong level of proficiency in Marine, including Hull & Machinery and Cargo, with previous claims handling experience required. Individuals will be responsible for autonomously managing a caseload of low-to-midvalue &complexity claims, deliver excellent customer service to stakeholders and clients and be able to recognise claims issues which require escalation to Claims Experts or Management.
In addition to this core function, the Senior Claims Analyst is a senior member of staff providing the first line of triage/support for the Claims Analyst Team, support Claims Experts in monitoring and performance of the claims portfolio under managing, provide system & process subject matter expertise (in due course to advance SCOR’s transformation journey and regularly communicate with internal or external stakeholders (e.g., claims experts, management, accounting, underwriters, brokers etc.)
Essential
- At least 3 years of Claims management experience, with claims emanating from standard Marine lines of business; experience in other lines of business is a plus
- Competency with claim handling systems and processes
- Strong understanding of claims governance, controls, and quality standards
- Exercises sound judgement in making decisions, especially in complex or ambiguous situations.
- Demonstrates the confidence to be inquisitive and ask questions when needed to gain clarity and improve decisions.
- Ability to assess complex information, identify key insights while considering the broader context and effectively communicate holistic views.
- Strong communication and stakeholder ‑ management skills
Desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Data ‑ driven mindset with experience using MI to manage performance and risk

Required Education
- University/College Degree preferred
