The Assets HOD — Hyderabad leads reference-led asset delivery across local Modeling, Surfacing and Rigging teams. Specialist HODs in North America define discipline workflows, technical standards and specialist guidance; the Hyderabad Assets HOD implements those standards, drives efficient execution, develops the local team and ensures reliable quality and cross-show delivery. Local Modeling, Surfacing and Rigging Leads or Supervisors may support day-to-day execution. Creative, subjective or technically complex exceptions are escalated to the relevant specialist HOD and show supervision. Scope can expand as demonstrated capability and quality improve.

Key Responsibilities

- Own Hyderabad cross-show intake, triage, prioritisation and delivery for agreed reference-led asset work.
- Implement Modeling, Surfacing and Rigging standards, workflows and quality gates defined by the respective specialist HODs; validate production-ready delivery.
- Direct Modeling, Surfacing and Rigging through local Leads or Supervisors and artists, with clear daily ownership, review gates and escalation paths.
- Partner with Production on capacity, scheduling, utilisation, forecasting and cross-show priority conflicts.
- Act as the accountable Build contact for CG / VFX Supervisors and show Production, communicating status, assumptions, risks, options and downstream readiness.
- Apply specialist-defined asset workflows, naming, LOD / variants and publishing conventions; partner with specialist HODs and Pipeline / TD teams to identify improvements and automation opportunities.
- Build the department by developing leads and artists, owning people-management and capability growth, shaping staffing and hiring needs, measuring quality / throughput, and expanding scope as readiness improves.

Qualifications

- 8+ years of feature-film or episodic VFX experience with substantial asset / Build responsibility.
- Proven leadership experience as an Asset, Build, Modeling, Surfacing, Rigging or CG Supervisor / Lead in high-end VFX.
- Strong understanding of modeling, topology, UVs, surfacing / texturing, look-development dependencies, rigging fundamentals, asset publishing and LOD / variant strategy.
- Sound judgment in classifying reference-led work and escalating work requiring creative interpretation or complex specialist oversight.
- Strong cross-show production leadership: planning, prioritisation, capacity management, dependency management and clear communication across departments and locations.
- Experience with USD or equivalent modern asset / scene-description workflows is highly valued; bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
