About this role
The Natural Gas Compressor Field Technician performs maintenance and repair activities on gas compression and/or process equipment, at customer's location, as directed
Acts as a technical resource for more complex issues in assigned area
Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) to standard with no helpLead a team performing Major Maintenance (MM), Overhaul and MOB/DEMOB projects to standard with limited to no assistancePerform compressor calculations
Demonstrate customer service skills
Read, write and speak English (work orders, manuals, etc.)
Scrubbers, on/off skid
Fully understands all processes and systems on how a compressor works
Expected to serve as a resource to others for mentoring, knowledge transfer, training and checking work
The selected candidate will possess the air compressor repair experience, knowledge and skills for effective utilization of related equipment and proven troubleshooting processes and procedures
Perform routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, cleaning and setting controls.
Qualifications:
Must have at lease 2-3 years of CAT 3500 engine experince.
Must live within a 60-mile radius of Rankin TX
Use computer skills, including vendor specific programs (Cat, Waukesha, Ariel, Murphy, etc.), Internet Explorer and Outlook
Regularly complete and submit company required documentation in an accurate and timely fashion
Thorough knowledge of gas engines and compressors, electrical systems, panel boards, controls, skid wiring, etc., through advanced training or performance verification, to perform this job successfully, an individual must have verifiable air compressor repair experience, be a team player, self-motivated and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Must be able to correctly troubleshoot, repair all components and brands of air compressors including large electrical, centrifugal, oil free, reciprocal piston equipment.
A strong background in mechanical and electrical is necessary
