### What to Expect
• The role involves testing, tuning and validation of driveability calibration to deliver the high-level vehicle characteristics targets. • The Qualified Driveability Engineer is responsible for delivering the driveability vehicle attributes, following Senior/Principal directions. • Special interest on demonstrated previous experience on the delivery of driveability calibration.
### What You'll Do
• Responsible for the development of engine, gearbox and hybrid calibrations for a specific McLaren application. • Work in close collaboration with the Powertrain controls and Vehicle development departments • Tune and calibrate driveability principally on the vehicle, focusing on both subjective and objective feedbacks. • Implement and develop eventual improvements inside HYCU and ECM • Conduct all tuning activities related to the above-mentioned systems. • Understand and resolve issues that arise during development process. • Support travelling for testing as required. • Complete Data logging, Calibration, Objective maneuvers and subjective vehicle evaluation. • Create reports of driveability calibration, highlighting actual and final status for production sign off • Standardize and document all the tools and procedures used and followed during the calibration process
### What You'll Bring
• Previous experience on Driveability, Powertrain controls, Base engine or low level gearbox controls. • Good knowledge of internal combustion engines, hybrid systems and dual clutch transmission technologies. Proven record of having previously delivered part/parts of a program within the industry. • Good level of knowledge of Etas environment (INCA and MDA), Vector Canape, Matlab and Simulink • Strong interpersonal and team-working skills, translated in sharing and document all the knowledge acquired. • Proven records of managing automotive or motorsport testing plans. • Good knowledge of validation, verification and testing process. • Good knowledge of data logging and calibration systems. • Good knowledge of objective maneuvers driving and subjective vehicle evaluation. • Model based controls application/development would be positively considered.
Education • Mechanical, Electronics, Physics or Automotive Engineering Degree • Master or PHD in Physics or Engineering will be advantageous • High competency in oral and written English language
