Field Service Technician II (33195)

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, provides service to customer base at various site locations or service center. Conducts routine to moderately complex preventative maintenance, trouble-shooting procedures, removes and replaces defective parts, and installs new or replacement parts. This position requires full-time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s) on your scheduled workdays. The work environment may include a variety of physical conditions such as electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, working in enclosed spaces, close quarters, narrow aisles or passageways. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with a standard day shift schedule of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

- Services equipment and/or products at either customer sites or service center to include, all contracted preventative maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, installations and start-ups. (Essential)

- Installation, tracking and servicing of Heater Products

- Ordering, expedition and notifying customers or management when replacement of product is necessary. Maintain and replace equipment, tools, and supplies used directly for the service of equipment and/or products. (Essential)

- Provides documentation of preventative maintenance, down time, issues and time spent preparing reports for product movement and justification for on-site service. Travel to various customer locations if needed. (Essential)

- Assist in all functions required in the operations of center. Assist and/or provide service back up to other customer sites as necessary. (Non-essential)

- Maintains clean and safe working environment compliant with EBARA safety policies. (Essential)

- Complies with EBARA safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training. (Essential)

- Performs other duties as assigned. (Non-Essential)

- It is recognized that the day to day tasks assigned to the incumbent will vary, therefore it is the responsibility of the supervisor to provide a detailed task list of the daily activities performed in the position.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competency Statement(s)

- Walking/Standing: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift, including traveling between equipment locations within large manufacturing facilities. May walk several miles during a shift depending on work assignments.

- Body Positioning: Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and work in restricted positions while accessing equipment. Ability to reach above shoulder level and overhead and work in awkward or restricted positions for extended periods

- Climbing/Access: Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access structures and safely maneuver around, over, and between equipment, piping, and structural components to access work locations for the measurement, installation, inspection, adjustment, and removal of CMP tools, heater jackets, and heat tape, and associated components. Work may require maintaining balance and working from elevated or restricted-access locations while following applicable fall-protection and site safety requirements.

- Safe Maneuvering: Ability to safely maneuver around, between, above, and below equipment, piping, structural components, and other obstructions to access equipment and process lines.

- Lifting: Ability to lift, lower, carry, push, pull, position, and manipulate tools, parts, equipment, and materials using team lifting or approved material-handling equipment when required. ETI maximum lifting capacity for 1 person is 35lbs.

- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, gripping, grasping, and manipulation of hand tools, power tools, fasteners, electrical connections, and equipment components.

- Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment based on assigned hazards, including protective clothing, gloves, safety footwear, hearing protection, fall-protection equipment, and respiratory protection when required. Employees assigned respirator-required work must satisfy applicable OSHA respiratory-protection requirements, including medical evaluation, fit testing, and training.

- Noise: Ability to work in environments that may include noise, elevated or reduced temperatures, chemical hazards, moving equipment, elevated work locations, and other industrial hazards, with required engineering controls, administrative controls, safe-work procedures, and PPE.

- The ability to lift 35 lbs. unassisted from the floor to waist level.

- The ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams.

- The ability to perform the identified essential functions of the classification, including the operation of any machinery and/or equipment that is associated with performing the essential functions.

- The ability to perform the essential functions of the position in a cross cultural, demanding and dynamic environment.

- The ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat of harm to him/herself, others or property.

- The ability to adhere to EBARA personnel policies and practices, including the attendance and punctuality requirements.

- If a respirator is used in this role, the ability to successfully PASS annual respirator fit test and medical exam.

Education

- AA or BS degree in Electronics, Engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience

- Two (2) or more years service experience, preferably in the semiconductor or related industry.

- Working knowledge of mechanical skills. Working knowledge of principles of semiconductor and/or vacuum technology.

- Working knowledge of computer systems including software packages such as Microsoft Office.

- Provide verification of good driving record if servicing customers offsite.

- Demonstrated teamwork skills. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
