About this role
Summary
The Junior Electrical Technician will assist in the daily electrical maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of production machinery and plant auxiliary systems. Working under the guidance of senior technicians and engineering managers, the candidate will undergo structured on-the-job training to learn high-speed manufacturing automation, power distribution, and machine-specific electrical diagnostics. This is an entry-level role ideal for a motivated fresh technical graduate looking to build a hands-on career in industrial automation and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
1. Basic Electrical Maintenance & Support
Assist in performing routine preventive maintenance (PM) on production machinery, electrical panels, and auxiliary equipment (chillers, compressors, cooling towers).
Perform basic wiring, component replacements (relays, contactors, fuses, switches), and panel upkeep.
Inspect and test electrical heating systems, including heater bands, thermocouples, and solid-state relays (SSRs).
2. Learning & Troubleshooting
Learn to trace electrical schematics and control diagrams to identify wiring and component faults.
Use digital multimeters and testing equipment to check voltage, continuity, resistance, and motor status.
Shadow senior technicians during machine breakdowns to learn systematic troubleshooting techniques on motors, drives, and PLC I/O systems.
3. Safety & Operations
Follow strict industrial safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, safety interlocks, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
