We are seeking a Senior Sales Engineer with a strong background in commercial HVAC systems and technical sales. The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of our product line and closing sales where technical expertise may be required to fit the customers' needs. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a proven record of business development and sales success. To be successful as a Senior Sales Engineer, you should possess an in-depth knowledge of our company's technical products and services and you should be able to relate this knowledge in a way that is understandable to building owners, engineers and mechanical contractors. You should be driven to achieve your sales goals and should have excellent sales, project management and customer service skills.
This role will cover our Orlando, FL territory. Pre-hire requirements include a drug test, a driving report, evidence of insurability and a background check.
What you'll do as a Senior Sales Engineer:
- Promote and sell our product lines by developing and maintaining viable long-term relationships with contractors, building owners, and consulting engineers.
- Generate high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing orders, negotiating prices, completing sales, and executing projects through to completion.
- Provide knowledge and consultation in the form of developing HVAC system related solutions for the customer's problems, including financial and performance-based considerations.
- Research, develop, and modify solutions to meet customers' technical requirements and needs.
- Develop and execute strategic territory plans to drive sustainable revenue growth.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned accounts and target markets.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to consulting engineers, contractors, facility managers, and building owners.
- Mentor and support less experienced sales and engineering team members as needed.
- Support customers with the installation and project execution for the equipment sold.
- Continually work to achieve sales goals set by leadership.
- Maintain accurate customer information and leads in Salesforce CRM system.
- Actively participate in industry activities such as trade shows, conferences, factory trips, and manufacturer training.
- Energetically take part in offered sales training and development programs (Sandler Selling Method).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required skills, experience, and knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of successful experience in commercial HVAC sales, applied equipment sales, building automation sales, mechanical systems sales, or a similar customer-facing technical sales role.
- Demonstrated success developing new business, expanding customer relationships, and achieving or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and the ability to develop and present technical solutions to consulting engineers, contractors, facility managers, and building owners.
- Experience managing complex sales opportunities, including specification sales, bid strategy, negotiations, project turnover, and execution.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and maintaining an active sales pipeline.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, customer service, and presentation skills.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and team collaboration skills.

- Commitment to ongoing professional development in both sales and engineering disciplines.
- Travel to customer job sites is required, which may include outdoor work and/or work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During site visits, the employee may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, and other environmental conditions.
