Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg represents a pivotal milestone in Tesla’s European expansion, driving sustainable energy innovation at unprecedented scale. The most important pillars for this are our employees. Their passion, motivation and engagement ensure that we achieve our goals.

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you’ll support the design, installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of electrode mixing and powder handling systems in our high-volume battery cell production lines. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to gain hands-on insight into safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing processes.

Your contributions will help impact Tesla’s production goals while you build practical experience in next-generation cell manufacturing systems. We are looking for motivated students to join our team, learn from more senior engineers, and help build Tesla’s future together.

- Support the design, commissioning, and ramp-up of new or modified equipment in electrode mixing and dry mixing processes, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues with supervision, including observing root cause analysis and helping coordinate action plans with contractors and maintenance teams.
- Participate in reviews of technical drawings (P&IDs, electrical schematics) and documentation, with coaching from experienced team members.
- Help document equipment procedures, maintenance routines, and operational guidelines.
- Contribute to safety assessments and equipment improvement initiatives alongside EHS & QA
- Support supplier-related activities such as equipment inspections, buy-offs, and tracking of deliverables.
- Assist in identifying critical spare parts and support inventory planning for key components.
- Gain exposure to powder handling equipment, automation systems, electrical checks (IOs), and basic mixing equipment operations.

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
- Relevant academic projects, coursework, or previous internships in manufacturing, process engineering, or technical environments (automotive, battery, chemical, or industrial preferred).
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with technical documentation, drawings, or safety standards (e.g., P&IDs, basic FMEA concepts) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly across departments.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, email) and comfort with digital tools used in production.
- Willingness to work in a production setting, including potential shift work if required
- Interest in powder handling systems, electrical safety, automation, or ATEX is a plus.
- Fluency in English required; German language skills are a plus.
