## Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

## Job Summary:

The Lead ESH Representative on Night Shift leads the execution of the project Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) program during the hours outside of the normal day shift hours.  This involves administrative and field tasks per established industry practices, procedures, and regulatory and Bechtel requirements. The position requires practical application of occupational safety and related disciplines for managing environmental, safety and health aspects of a project. The position reports to the ESH Operations Manager (or designee) and coordinates with the Night Shift Construction Manager.

Work requires physical ability for field inspections, including walking on construction sites in extreme heat or humidity, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working at heights or on uneven surfaces, and entering confined spaces. Must be able to wear assigned PPE (e.g., harness, life vest, gloves, etc.). #LI-AE2

## Major Responsibilities:

- Lead night-shift safety and health activities, applying professional judgment, scientific methods, and risk-control strategies to prevent adverse impacts.
- Supervise assigned ESH personnel and support their development through work assignments, coaching, and mentoring.
- Interpret regulatory, contractual, project, and Bechtel requirements; provide technical guidance on hazard identification, risk assessment, planning, and ESH program execution.
- Research ESH issues, conduct safety studies and risk assessments, and prepare required documentation and technical reports.
- Implement the project Safety and Health Management Plan and associated procedures, providing oversight of night operations.
- Support emergency preparedness, incident investigations, stakeholder identification, and resolution of ESH concerns.
- Coordinate with project groups to integrate ESH requirements into planning, design, construction, procurement, and subcontract activities.
- Participate in meetings with customers, project teams, contractors, and subcontractors to communicate and advise on ESH requirements.
- Conduct inspections and monitoring, identify corrective actions, verify compliance, analyze performance data and trends, and prepare reports.
- Develop ESH communications and support team activities across environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene disciplines.

## Education and Experience Requirements:

- A Master of Science degree (or equivalent) in occupational safety, health, or a science-related discipline from an accredited university or college with 5 or more years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in one of the same disciplines with 7 or more years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in one of the same disciplines with 10 or more years of relevant experience; or 14 or more years of relevant safety or health experience.

## Required Knowledge and Skills:

- Ability to research and comprehend organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
- Analytical skills related to sampling, monitoring, and recordkeeping.
- Adaptable and able to work outdoors in a field environment under various weather conditions.
- Ability to work full time on a construction site and support night shift and a wide range of tasks.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated experience in managing ES&H teams of 5 or more across all three (ESH) disciplines on construction projects with at least 2500 craft workers.
- Knowledge and experience with ISO 45001 Management System standards.
- Specialized technical skills and knowledge related to an applicable safety or health discipline.
- Broad technical knowledge, science skills, and technical writing abilities.
