Job Title: Electrical Drafter Job Description
The primary function of this role is to create and modify drawings and models using REVIT software.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer-aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques.
- Create quick actions utilizing the command language of the system to assist in drawing creation.
- Utilize knowledge of mathematics in the preparation of drawings.
- Develop increased proficiency in system operation, resulting in increased productivity, and learn how to use all software options.
- Review work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.
- Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes, using conversion charts and calculators.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical drafting using 3D modeling software such as BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, and NavisWorks.
- Ability to create Revit Worksheets and understanding of Revit work-sharing process.
- Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working shop drawings.
- Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.
- Fluency in the 2D and 3D space and understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
- Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team.
- Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in-house or on the job site.
- Fluency in importing documents such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D plans, electronically or hard copy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and drafting courses required; one to two years of technical training preferred.
- Working experience in electrical drafting or MEP preferred using Revit.
- General working knowledge of construction software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Skills above and beyond would include creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry.
- Prepare copies and help make sets of documents for other parties.
- Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites (FTP, etc.).
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Locations include Oregon (Portland, Hillsboro), Boise, ID, or Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
