This role will also support the News ’ coverage of local events — those things that make people’s leisure time worthwhile, from a new exhibit opening to the latest immersive experience blowing up on TikTok. Assignments will likely include a mix of quick-turn breaking news, in-depth features, data-driven enterprise, and listicles, spanning the North Texas dining scene, food business, current affairs and politics impacting the culinary world, and events and things to do around town.

- Proficiency in digital content management tools
- Using social media for newsgathering and audience development
- Demonstrated ability to work remotely via smartphone or laptop computer
- Understanding of platforms and audiences and ability to compose stories appropriate to the platform of publication (e.g., voice, style, formatting, hyperlinks)

- Using accepted newsroom tools for planning, authoring, communicating, etc.
- Collaborating effectively with team members and across newsroom teams
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, producing stories quickly and accurately
