Position Overview

Asiacruit is supporting a growing beauty and cosmetics company in Indonesia in hiring a Purchasing Leader to oversee supplier sourcing, supplier development, production monitoring, and procurement activities across China.

The position is based in China and will serve as a key liaison between the company's Indonesia-based management team and suppliers and manufacturers across China. The role requires strong on-the-ground supplier management, frequent travel across China, and regular business travel to Indonesia.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced sourcing or procurement professional with strong knowledge of the Chinese supplier and manufacturing environment . The ideal candidate is proactive, commercially minded, highly independent, and able to identify potential supplier, production, quality, or shipment issues early.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify, source, evaluate, and develop suppliers and manufacturers across China.
- Compare supplier capabilities, pricing, quality, production capacity, lead times, and other commercial considerations.
- Support supplier negotiations and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved commercial terms.
- Monitor new projects and sample development, ensuring specifications, requirements, and timelines are properly followed.
- Monitor production progress and ensure suppliers meet agreed quality standards, specifications, and production schedules.
- Identify potential production, quality, and delivery issues early and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers.
- Monitor shipment readiness, shipping schedules, and relevant supplier documentation.
- Conduct supplier visits, factory assessments, audits, and production inspections across China.
- Maintain strong communication and follow-up with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Work closely with the Indonesia-based procurement and management teams to ensure supplier activities remain aligned with business requirements.
- Provide regular updates and reports covering sourcing progress, supplier development, sample status, production, shipment, potential issues, and corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities to improve sourcing efficiency, cost competitiveness, quality, and supply reliability.
- Travel to Indonesia approximately every 3–4 months, or on short notice when required, for business meetings, reporting sessions, and coordination with the Indonesia team.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, International Trade, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier management, trading, manufacturing, factory management, international business, or export/import.
- Strong experience working with Chinese manufacturers and suppliers is highly preferred.
- Experience in beauty, cosmetics, skincare, personal care, packaging, FMCG, or related manufacturing industries is an advantage.
- Proven experience in supplier sourcing, evaluation, price comparison, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Experience monitoring production, sample development, quality, and shipment activities.
- Basic understanding of export/import processes.
- Strong communication, negotiation, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple suppliers and projects.
- Native Chinese/Mandarin is required.
- Professional working proficiency in English is required for communication and reporting with the Indonesia-based team.
- Willing to travel extensively across China for supplier and factory visits, including short-notice travel when required.
- Willing to travel to Indonesia approximately once every 3–4 months, or on short notice when required , for business meetings and coordination.
