## Your Purpose

The Energy Efficiency Specialist is called to support MSC Cruises commitment in Energy Efficiency on board MSC fleet, using telemetry data and analytics tools to achieve short term and mid-term savings in fuel consumption, reducing emissions optimising ships energy profiles.

The successful candidate will advise the Head of Energy Efficiency on optimal ship setup, using daily analytics tools to monitor ship performances, creating reports, maintaining data integrity and accuracy. The specialist will liaise with internal and external stakeholders and will participate actively in MSC Cruise Management and MSC Group decarbonisation strategy, joining seminars, meetings, supporting the Head of Energy Efficiency with specific technical insights and data reporting.

## Your Impact

- Develops and manages a knowledge database of Vessels showing performance trends.
- Delivers vessel and fleet performance fact-based analyses and recommendations using our in-house vessel performance systems and external systems as well as optimised solutions to improve liner operations.
- Oversees the maintenance, performance, and troubleshooting of onboard sensor equipment in cooperation with shipboard and shoreside technical teams.
- Supports the creation of ad hoc technical\environmental reports to enhance data distribution across the company
- Maintains the Speed Power tables updated \Tech Reports and share the values with the department involved
- Conducts technical performance investigations to identify opportunities for improving the operational efficiency and performance of the MSC Cruises fleet.
- Analyses Sustainability Data for Emission Compliance Regulations and monitor and maintain an evidence pack for the Emission Fleet
- Validates Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) data and prepares CII rating reports and analyses to monitor, assess, and improve the energy efficiency performance of the fleet.
- Collaborates with all stakeholders to optimize vessel performance dashboards in an efficient and structured format
- Supports the Head of Energy Efficiency to identify new technologies and systems to be applied on board MSC fleet to achieve the Energy Efficiency Strategy.
- Works strictly with Energy Efficiency Team to manage reports and analysis.
- Works on several projects at once by virtue of prioritising effectively and completes them within short time periods through effective time management.
- Works in close cooperation with the Energy Efficiency Management Officer to enhance fleet’s energy balance, acting as subject matter expert for data analysis in company projects.
- Works with all departments to achieve common targets and strategy
- Participates in on-going training and development, regular performance reviews and monthly one to ones.
- Carries out any other reasonable duties as required by the company
- Adheres to the company and department standards, policies and procedures.
- Applies company values in all day-to-day activities.
- Understands the health, safety, environmental & associated legal requirements that are relevant to our work and comply with these.

## Your Journey so far

- Minimum Degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture, Hydrodynamic or a related discipline).
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position with a proven track record of achievements.
- Strong ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience of working within sustainability or a similar field is an advantage
- Understanding of analysing data and legislation to use for practical action
- High attention to detail across both qualitive and quantitative research and analysis
- Strong written and visual communication skills
- Excellent English and communication skills combined with the ability to build a case, present data effectively and support Energy Management officer in his duties related to data analysis.
- Consolidated technical background on maritime technology, integrated automation systems, sensors, telemetry, management of faults and troubleshooting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced skills in analytic tools, using dedicated software and platform, such as PowerBI is an advantage.
- Availability to work long hours under pressure and over the weekend when required.
- Proficient with office automation systems for data analysis and data presentations
- Self-starter and autonomous in operational decision making according to Company guidelines and procedures
- Proficient in documentation and technical manual preparation
- Able to work with project management tools to manage scheduling and targeting results
