Job Purpose

To ensure that all products and processes comply with the company's food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements through effective monitoring, inspection, testing, documentation, and verification activities. The role supports the maintenance of GMP and hygiene standards, product traceability, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and quality objectives

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor hygiene standards, GMP compliance, and deep-cleaning activities throughout the factory.
- Receive and inspect raw materials, including raw milk receiving, testing, and release of components.
- Verify product identification, traceability, and compliance with food safety and quality requirements.
- Collect and evaluate microbiological, in-process, and final product samples for quality assessment
- Monitor production processes, temperatures, check weights, and potential foreign object contamination.
- Perform scale verifications, routine calibrations, and maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly records.
- Review and verify process documentation to ensure recipes, procedures, and process sheets are correctly completed.
- Conduct WIP (Work-in-Progress) and final product assessments, reporting any non-conformances identified.
- Communicate quality, food safety, and process issues to Supervisors, Foremen, Technologists, and Managers, and assist with staff training where required.
- Adhere to company policies, food safety and quality objectives, health and safety standards, and perform ad hoc duties as assigned by Management.

Experience and Qualifications

- Matric / Grade 12
- Experience - At least 2 years in the Food or Beverage Industry with specific focus on hygiene and housekeeping audits would be advantageous.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office/Excel/Outlook)
- GMP, HACCP and WW Code of Practice would be advantageous.
