Job Purpose
To maximize the route potential thus ensuring profitable availability. Managing route sales, driver shorts, crates and PODs through your team consisting of Salesman Drivers and Sales Assistants. Daily couching of Salesman Drivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure that Drivers and Vehicles are allocated correctly to enable daily route monitoring, driver debriefing and reporting on the planned vs. actual route adherence.
- Daily Route Management of bakery delivery vehicles.
- To analyse & report on operational and customer service trends.
- To ensure all systems supporting DRM are functional, e.g. (Vigil & Mix Telematics)
- Responsible for DRM System reporting to management of daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s hit rates, departure times, excess kilometres, unplanned routes and kilometres.
- To control driver shortages
- To control outstanding crates
- Overall management of drivers and sales assistants
Experience and Qualifications:
- Matric or equivalent
- Min 3 years Sales Supervisory experience, with a strong emphasis on Customer Service Execution in an FMCG environment.
- Computer Literate.
- Geographic Information Systems.
- Advanced Excel user.
- Route Planning systems, an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Geospatial data (Spatial Data).
- Routing and Distribution Optimization.
- Working knowledge of vehicle telematics technology & software.
- People management – experience with working with people at all levels of the organization
Skills and competencies:
- High level of understanding of the FMCG industry
- Good relationship and communication skills
- Good administrative skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Be prepared to work additional hours
- Analytical and innovative mindset
- Attention to details
- Basic IR skills
- Well-developed capability on Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Working condition:
- Pressurized environment. (Accuracy and time pressures)
- Code 10 Driver’s licence with PrDP, (advantageous)
- Own transport (advantageous)
- 24/7 operation might be required to work weekends and Public Holidays'
