Job Purposes:
To assist with general and technical assistance that ensures the overall effectiveness of equipment and plant on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with carrying out of preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment
- Installation and project work as required and Undertake light installation
- Report any defects noticed while performing normal functions
- Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
- Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks
- Technical assistance and perform maintenance and light repairs
- Housekeeping
- Visually inspect all working parts of the complete system, which includes the steam valves and header pipes and water treatment system, for proper and safe operation
Experience and qualification:
- Grade 12
- 1 - 3 years’ experience in a FMCG environment
- Competencies (knowledge, skills and attributes):
- Expert knowledge of engineering principles
- Industry (FMCG)

Working Conditions
- Understanding of relevant Regulatory and Legislative Requirements e.g., OSH Act/GMP/Food Safety
- Maintenance system skills and Fault Finding and Root Cause Analysis
- Required to work Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays as per roster
- Required to work shifts and be on standby, Overtime expected from time to time
- Work with and on heavy equipment and plant (mechanical and electrical)
- Factory environment – hot and noisy
