MetroLink is a transformational public transport project that will provide a high-capacity, high-frequency metro railway connecting Dublin city centre, Dublin Airport and surrounding communities.

The Interface Manager will play a critical role in managing, coordinating and controlling interfaces across the MetroLink programme. The position will ensure alignment between multiple stakeholders, contractors, designers, utility providers, public authorities, operators and client teams to facilitate the successful delivery of a complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure programme.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and technical coordination skills, ensuring that project interfaces are identified, managed and mitigated throughout the project lifecycle.

You’ll be responsible for:

Interface management

- Develop, implement and maintain the project's Interface Management Strategy and Interface Management Plan.
- Establish and manage formal interface identification and control processes across all project workstreams.
- Maintain the Interface Register and ensure interface risks, issues and dependencies are clearly identified and managed.
- Coordinate interface agreements between internal project teams and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate resolution of interface conflicts to minimise programme and cost impacts.
- Monitor interface performance and report status, risks and mitigation measures.

Stakeholder coordination

- Act as the primary point of contact for interface management activities across the programme.
- Build effective working relationships with the client, contractors, designers, statutory authorities and utility providers.
- Coordinate engagement with local authorities, transport operators, regulatory bodies and third-party stakeholders.
- Facilitate interface workshops and technical coordination meetings.

Project delivery

- Support project planning and sequencing activities by identifying critical interface dependencies.
- Ensure interface requirements are incorporated into design, procurement and construction packages.
- Coordinate with commercial, planning, engineering and construction teams to ensure alignment.
- Support change management and configuration control processes relating to interface impacts.
- Ensure interface-related decisions are documented and communicated effectively.

Risk and assurance

- Identify and manage interface risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support programme-wide risk reviews and assurance activities.
- Monitor compliance with project governance, safety and quality requirements.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting

- Produce regular interface management reports and dashboards.
- Provide updates to senior leadership and governance forums.
- Escalate critical interface issues and recommend solutions.

You’ll need to have:

- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Professional membership of a recognised institution (Engineers Ireland, ICE, PMI, APM or equivalent) or working towards certification.
- Minimum 8-10 years' experience delivering large-scale infrastructure programmes.
- Experience working on major rail, metro, transportation or civil engineering projects.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex stakeholder and contractor interfaces.
- Experience operating within multi-disciplinary project environments.
- Proven track record managing interface registers, risks and governance processes.
