Commissioning Intern - Summer 2027

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Commissioning Intern - Summer 2027 . This is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their career in the field of commissioning and sustainable consulting. Responsibilities entail the support of multiple commissioning projects, retro-commissioning projects, and energy audits for a wide variety of clients and facility types.

What You’ll Do:

- Shadow project professionals in their day-to-day tasks, including performing construction site observations, functional performance testing, and systems troubleshooting.

- Draft pre-functional checklists for projects

- Draft functional testing checklists for specific equipment.

- Perform submittal reviews for commissioned equipment.

- Attend project meetings to stay abreast of project developments and communicate commissioning-related issues to the team.

- Assist in writing reports and project correspondence.

- Perform controls and trend analysis

What You'll Need:

- Pursuing a BS Degree in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. Related technical degrees may be considered

- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred

- Computer competencies include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

- Good grammatical, spelling, and proofreading skills

- Good communication skills in dealing with clients and co-workers

- Organized and professional

- Ability to climb ladders and willingness to be trained in appropriate job safety procedures.

- Recent experience on active construction site(s) is a bonus.
