About this role
Farnsworth Group is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineering Intern - Summer 2027. In this role, qualified candidates will have an opportunity to work with a team of experienced Structural Engineers on a variety of bridge and structure related projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform structural analysis of bridge and infrastructure project elements
- Develop load calculations and structural design computations for project components
- Prepare organized, detailed structural calculations and technical documentation
- Design and draft structural elements, details, and connection designs
- Develop plans and specifications using MicroStation software
- Work under the guidance of Project Managers and Project Engineers
- Participate in coordination meetings with multidisciplinary project teams
- Assist with field inspection and condition assessment of bridges and other structures.
What You’ll Need:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program, with a concentration in structural engineering.
- Computer proficiency with Word and Excel
- MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience preferred
- Understanding of structural engineering principles, building codes, and design standards
- Valid Driver’s License
