POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Coordinator serves as a member for the Research and Evaluation team and supports implementation of the program’s Research and evaluation Plan. The position coordinates data collection, data quality, tracking, follow-up assessments, database maintenance, and reporting activities to support accurate evaluation of program performance and outcomes. The Data Coordinator also serves as the Learning Collaborative Point of Contact an works with program staff to promote timely complete, and reliable data.
Essential functions include those listed below.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in completing a Comprehensive Needs Assessment;
- Assist with a Capacity Assessment;
- Lead efforts in upgrading and enhancing HMIS;
- Collect and report accurate data on youth homelessness, as well as recruit other service providers to engage and participate in data collection;
- Assist in the development and implementation of evaluation and analysis strategies;
- Work with the Quality Assurance Manager and the contracted Director of Research and Evaluation to collect data, evaluate, and report to stakeholders and the funder;
- Must Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience and Competencies:
- Familiarity with data collection tools, including standardized instruments, surveys, databases, and other structured data sources.
- Experience creating and maintaining databases or datasets using Excel, SPSS, or comparable applications.
- Understanding of variable construction and a basic understanding of statistical data.
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion;
- Ability to work well in a team environment;
- Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality;
- Professional appearance and demeanor;
- Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served;
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required; and
- CPR Certification and First Aid Certification.

- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for WestCare’s Vehicle Insurance.
- During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in program management, behavioral health, social services, grant-funded programs, or a related field; supervisory experience preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in evaluation and/or research.
- Bachelor's degree in a research-related field required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Not applicable for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is primarily performed in an office and community-based environment.
- Regular travel throughout the assigned service area is required to support outreach, community partnerships, participant services, meetings, and program activities.
- Travel between WestCare facilities, VA facilities, community partner locations, and outreach sites may be required.
- Position requires regular interaction with Veterans and individuals who may be experiencing behavioral health concerns, emotional distress, significant psychosocial stressors, or suicide risk.
- Some evening or weekend work may be required to support outreach events, community activities, or program needs.
