General Description and Classification Standards

Performs skilled technical work in the maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, controls and distribution systems. Assists the immediate supervisor with system updates of crew members assignments and time management for each job assignment. This is a fully seasoned skilled level capable of independently carrying out most assignments typical of the discipline. This level would be attainable by multiple incumbents in a work group (not necessarily by all), but would not be an "automatic" promotional level.

Supervision Received

Works under very general supervision. May work independently or with other skilled or semi-skilled workers with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). 3 years of experience performing maintenance on HVAC systems.

Preferred Education & Experience

Completion of Technical or Vocational course of study in HVAC and 5 years of experience performing maintenance on HVAC systems.

Licensures and Certifications

E.P.A Certification required. Valid State of Georgia Drivers License required.
