Engineering Technician (HS Diploma Or GED Needed)

Job Title: Engineering Technician Job Description The Engineering Technician supports product testing activities in a laboratory environment through hands-on equipment setup, instrumentation, teardown, assembly, and general mechanical and electrical work. This role focuses on preparing and supporting test operations so test technicians can concentrate on executing tests. It is well suited for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, comfort working with wiring and electrical components, and the ability to carefully follow procedures and work instructions. Prior engineering lab experience is not required, and training is provided for equipment and processes. Responsibilities

- Set up, instrument, and tear down products undergoing testing in the laboratory.
- Build and assemble test fixtures, prototype products, and instrumentation components to support test activities.
- Install, route, crimp, and connect wiring, wire harnesses, and electrical components according to specifications and procedures.
- Use basic hand tools, including sockets, screwdrivers, wrenches, and hammers, to perform mechanical and electrical tasks.
- Read, understand, and follow detailed test procedures and work instructions to ensure accurate and consistent test preparation.
- Support troubleshooting and assembly activities by observing tests, reviewing test data, and assisting with adjustments or rework as needed.
- Enter information into spreadsheets and tracking systems to document test setups, configurations, and results.
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas and participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
- Provide preparation and support activities that enable test technicians to focus on executing tests efficiently.

Essential Skills

- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work confidently with tools and mechanical assemblies.
- Comfort working around electrical wiring, wire harnesses, and electrical components.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and work instructions accurately.
- Basic computer skills for entering data into spreadsheets and tracking systems.
- Reliability and strong work ethic, with a willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
- Capability to perform hands-on work in a laboratory environment using basic hand tools.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to provide and use basic personal hand tools required for daily tasks.

Work Environment This position operates in a laboratory test environment focused on supporting product testing operations. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
