Head of Reporting - Project Controls - Defence

We are looking for an experienced Head of Reporting - Project Controls to join our defence team in Reading or London, supporting a major programme within a highly regulated environment. You will play an important role in maintaining effective programme governance, coordinating the reporting drumbeat and ensuring decisions and actions are accurately captured and progressed. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a complex, nationally significant programme while helping to improve reporting processes and programme oversight.

Due to the strict security requirements of the role, candidates must be a UK National and will need to obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Working collaboratively within an integrated programme management office environment.
- Maintaining key governance, decision and action trackers, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date.
- Attending key programme governance meetings to capture decisions, actions and agreed outputs.
- Following up with action owners to support timely completion and escalation where required.
- Organising key governance forums and meetings aligned with the programme drumbeat.
- Supporting the effective facilitation and administration of programme meetings.
- Maintaining the programme calendar, including key governance and reporting milestones.
- Providing process and technical support to PMO functions, particularly in relation to reporting.
- Liaising with the integration director, functional leads and wider programme stakeholders.
- Identifying and recommending continuous improvement opportunities within reporting processes.
- Supporting the reporting lead and reporting analyst as required.

You’ll need to have :

- A technical degree or equivalent relevant experience. Professional accreditation, or progress towards accreditation, would be advantageous.
- A qualification or practitioner-level understanding of Six Sigma, PRINCE2 or Lean Project Delivery would be advantageous.
- Experience within nuclear, defence or another high-security or highly regulated sector would be desirable.
- Strong and proven experience within project management, project controls or a PMO environment.
- Knowledge of reporting tools and software, with the ability to maintain trackers and support reporting outputs.
- A good understanding of data management, including the ability to validate and check inputs for accuracy.
- Knowledge of change control and baseline management principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to provide clear, concise commentary for reports.
- Strong organisational skills, with experience coordinating meetings, actions, calendars and governance activities.
- The ability to work collaboratively and inclusively with stakeholders across a complex programme.
