About this role

Purpose. Performance. People.

Joining CPP Investments means joining one of the world’s most admired and respected institutional investors to drive a single mandate: to deliver strong, sustainable returns for generations of Canadians.

With a long-term horizon and global reach, we deploy capital at scale across public and private markets. Our size, stability, and disciplined investment philosophy allow us to pursue complex opportunities and build enduring partnerships worldwide.

For our people, this means meaningful work with tangible impact, real opportunity, and collaboration with exceptional colleagues who value partnership and performance. Here, you’ll contribute to outcomes that matter alongside team members committed to excellence and shared success.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, Credit Asset Management, you will help take CPP Investments’ structured credit platform to the next level by managing a growing portfolio while building the processes and tools that allow us to operate at scale.

This role is designed for someone with initiative, curiosity, and ambition to grow as an investment management professional. You will have real ownership of the day-to-day management of our structured credit investments and flow programs, while also being expected to improve how the work gets done.

You will use AI, automation, and data tools to redesign manual and repetitive workflows, strengthen controls, and make the platform more scalable. The objective is to spend progressively less time chasing information, checking templates, and manually updating spreadsheets—and more time understanding portfolio performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and developing investment judgment.

The role offers an opportunity to build deep expertise in a large structured credit portfolio, help shape how the platform operates, and take on increasingly sophisticated portfolio management responsibilities over time.

The Team

Credit Asset Management is building next-generation asset management capabilities to support Credit Investments’ growth over the next decade and beyond. The team combines credit expertise with technology, including GenAI, to drive alpha through operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and proprietary insights.

The team offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of credit analysis, portfolio management and technology, with exposure to CPP Investments’ global credit platform.

Accountabilities

- Own the ongoing management and monitoring of structured credit investments and flow programs across the Americas, developing a deep understanding of each investment’s thesis, structure, economics, risks, and performance drivers.
- Manage the recurring execution of forward flows, warehouses, asset purchase facilities, securitizations, and related financing structures, including funding, borrowing bases, waterfalls, and transaction reporting.
- Analyze borrower, servicer, collateral, and transaction data to assess performance against underwriting expectations, identify emerging trends and risks, and develop actionable investment insights.
- Continuously redesign how the work gets done. Use AI, automation, Python, SQL, and external service providers to eliminate repetitive manual work, improve controls and data quality, and build scalable workflows.
- Develop clear views on portfolio performance and material developments, communicate them effectively to deal teams and other stakeholders, and proactively identify issues requiring action.
- Build and improve the monitoring, reporting, analytical, and control infrastructure needed to manage a growing structured credit portfolio efficiently.
- Partner closely with investment teams and functions across CPP Investments, taking on increasingly sophisticated responsibilities as your knowledge and judgment develop.

Qualifications

- 2-4 years of relevant experience in structured credit, asset-backed finance, or securitized products.
- Strong understanding of structured credit products and financing structures, with experience in areas such as forward flows, warehouse facilities, asset-backed lending, ABS, CLOs or SRTs.
- Excellent credit, analytical, and financial modeling skills, with the curiosity to translate analysis into investment conclusions.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI, Python, SQL, or similar technologies to improve workflows, analyze data, and increase team effectiveness.
- High degree of ownership and initiative. You identify problems, develop solutions, and drive work forward without waiting for a detailed playbook.
- Intellectual curiosity and ambition to grow from process execution into increasingly sophisticated portfolio analysis, judgment, and portfolio management responsibility.
- Strong attention to detail and judgment: automation should reduce manual work without compromising the rigor, controls, and accuracy required to manage institutional capital.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to turn complex information into clear conclusions, recommendations, and actions.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline; progress toward a CFA or CPA designation is an asset.

You are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to  high standards in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.

We provide colleagues with cutting-edge AI tools, dedicated learning time, and practical support to help them deliver with greater impact.
