What you will do

The internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a customer-facing environment, and to support/promote the students career goals through interaction with product marketing professionals. Interns participate in professional activities for Volvo Trucks Customer Experience Center by working on practical, innovative and important projects. This Internship provides structured learning experiences where interns willbe challenged in both preparations and customer-facing tasks. The internship allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo Trucks Customer Experience Center.

The purpose of this position is to understand and execute the smooth operation of the customer experience center. During this process the student will participate in operations management, including hands-on activities, vendor management of various types as well as customer-facing interactions.

The position requires a candidate that is willing to work within multiple disciplines to provide the ultimate customer experience.

Minimum Education and Program Requirements

- Applicants must be currently enrolled in academic courses and pursuing a degree in Property Management, Hotel and Tourism Management, Business Management, or related field at an accredited school and must have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.

- Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75/4.0

- Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week.

The student will be involved in managing the Customer Center operations. This will include building and property management as well as the customer experience track and interactive assets for display. Students will learn to manage the operation with a hands-on approach as well as through the utilization of in-house as well as third party vendors. Students will also learn how this preparation translates to the customer facing portion of the business.

The position will be required to perform a presentation as part of the internship to show the results of the assigned projects and benefits gained. This will be presented to upper-level management and gives the opportunity for the students to show their projects and interface with the management team.

Attention to Detail: Monitoring adherence to standards and actively checking for the final result of preparations and seamless operation as it is visible to the customer.

Communication: listening effectively, transmitting information accurately and understandably and actively seeking feedback non-defensively, strong writing, communication, and presentation skills

Flexibility: performing a wide range of tasks, responding to changes in direction and priorities, and accepting new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments

Dependability/Reliability: Following through on commitments, producing timely work to promote a higher standard; pitching in to get the job done

Must have experience in EXCEL, MS Word, Power Point and preference given to those with Power BI experience.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
