The Design Program Manager Design Change Administration oversees the design bulletin system and manages building design changes across multiple projects. This role coordinates closely with architects, engineers, construction teams, and project managers to ensure design modifications are accurately documented, efficiently implemented, and fully aligned with project objectives and regulatory requirements. The position suits a proactive design professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple concurrent design changes while maintaining exceptional organization and documentation standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the design bulletin system, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and distribution of all design changes.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, construction teams, and project managers to facilitate timely and accurate implementation of design modifications.
- Create, update, and maintain project schedules and timelines related to design changes, ensuring alignment with overall project plans.
- Lead design change review meetings, drive structured discussions, and facilitate decision-making processes among stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and refine standardized processes and best practices for design change management and administration.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and resource allocation associated with design modifications, and flag risks or variances to stakeholders.
- Generate regular status reports and updates on design changes, RFIs, and bulletins for project teams and leadership.
- Ensure all design changes comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and project standards.
- Oversee RFI processing related to design issues, ensuring timely responses, clear documentation, and appropriate follow-up.
- Issue design bulletins and related documentation in a timely manner, ensuring all relevant parties receive accurate and current information.
- Manage and maintain design and construction data within project databases and platforms, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design change decisions with both technical requirements and business objectives.
- Support continuous improvement of design data management, documentation standards, and reporting practices across projects.
Essential Skills
- Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in design or construction project management.
- Strong understanding of building design and construction processes, including design documentation and construction workflows.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and effective change management in a design or construction environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple design changes and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong documentation skills, including maintaining accurate records, logs, and reports for design modifications.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in handling design data, RFIs, and bulletins.
- Proficiency with project management and design-related software tools.
- Experience with RFI processing, design bulletin issuance, and database management in a construction design environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with architects, engineers, construction professionals, and stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of building codes and regulatory requirements relevant to design changes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360) for managing design and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with Smartsheet for tracking schedules, tasks, and design change workflows.
- Experience in building design coupled with strong project management and business-focused decision-making.
- Broad project management skills (PM fundamentals), including risk awareness, stakeholder communication, and status reporting.
- Experience in construction management or working closely with construction teams on design change implementation.
- Ability to quickly learn new software platforms and tools used for construction design documentation and data management.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of organization and quality.
Work Environment
This role operates in a virtual/remote work environment, allowing you to manage design change activities and collaborate with project teams from a remote location. You will use digital tools and platforms such as project management software, design documentation systems, and collaboration tools, with a strong emphasis on technologies like Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360) and Smartsheet where applicable. Work involves frequent online meetings, digital documentation, and coordination across distributed teams, requiring reliable connectivity and a professional remote setup.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
