What You'll Do
As an Inpatient Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Provide Occupational Therapy services to patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
- Develop, document, and implement individualized treatment plans
- Establish appropriate therapy goals to promote optimal patient outcomes
- Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve function and independence
- Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate
- Participate in regularly scheduled patient care-team conferences
- Contribute to the interdisciplinary plan of care, including therapy goals, patient progress, and discharge recommendations
- Coordinate patient care with an interdisciplinary team that includes, but is not limited to:
Physicians
- Nurse Practitioners
- Physical Therapists
- Speech Therapists
- Nurses
- Other rehabilitation professionals
- Educate and encourage patients and families throughout the rehabilitation process
- Demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills in a dynamic clinical environment
- Encourage and inspire patients as they work toward greater independence and recovery
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
Education
- Appropriate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Licensure
- Current, valid Occupational Therapy license, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of Mississippi
Certification
- American Red Cross BLS
Experience
- New graduates are welcome to apply!
- Clinical experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient settings preferred
