We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team in a laboratory setting. This role is crucial for maintaining the safety and efficiency of our operations by ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained.
Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, inspect, wrap, sterilize, and distribute instruments, instrument trays, basins, and equipment.
- Inspect, disassemble, sort, clean, and process reusable instrumentation and equipment.
- Select and operate specialized cleaning equipment following device manufacturers' cleaning guidelines.
- Maintain adequate cleaning supplies and reprocess endoscopes.
- Identify, inspect, and assemble all general and specialty instruments, as well as various power equipment, laser, and endoscope instruments.
- Accurately document daily records of all quality assurance and sterilization functions according to regulatory agency and Infection Control standards.
- Adhere to organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in sterilization and surgical instrumentation.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation and autoclave operations.
- Understanding of sterile processing, decontamination, and cleanroom procedures.
- Skills in equipment maintenance and aseptic wrapping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with reusable surgical instrumentation, including power equipment and micro-surgical instrumentation is preferred.
- Experience in cleaning patient care equipment such as IV pumps, feeding pumps, pneumatic pumps, CPM machines, PCA, and hypo/hyperthermia units is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterilization monitoring, record-keeping, and quality assurance programs is preferred.
- Ability to meet regulatory requirements for sterilization, high-level disinfection, biological monitoring, and employee competencies.

This position is located in a fast-paced, high-volume Trauma Center in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA). Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
