Job Title: Laboratory Technician Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining laboratory supplies, ensuring lab cleanliness, supporting equipment maintenance, and monitoring environmental conditions of cold storage units. The position also involves aiding research teams with study preparations, consumable stocking, and basic laboratory procedures.
Responsibilities
- Stock laboratory supplies and respond to supply queries
- Maintain lab cleanliness and organization
- Support general equipment maintenance
- Monitor environmental conditions of cold storage units using monitoring software and respond to alarms as needed
- Occasionally support other operations such as package receipt, intake, and waste management
- Assist research teams with study preparation and closure activities
- Manage lab-specific consumable stocking
- Perform basic laboratory procedures
- Manage freezer inventory
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support general operations
- Draft and review SOPs
- Communicate regularly with the manager and research teams
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a Life Science field
- Prior lab experience from school or industry
- Ability to strictly adhere to laboratory SOPs
- Ability to handle a multi-task workload
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to respond to alarms after hours on an on-call schedule
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in GMP, GLP, or BSL is a plus
- Experience using sample and equipment management software is preferred
Work Environment
This position is based in a laboratory environment, where you will spend the majority of your time working in the lab and some time at a desk for documentation tasks. The work schedule is the first shift, Monday through Friday, approximately 8 AM to 5 PM. However, the ability to respond to alarms after hours on an on-call schedule is required.

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
