Job Title: Talent Acquisition Recruiter Job Description
The Talent Acquisition Recruiter leads full-cycle recruitment for a rapidly growing organization while providing hands-on human resources support and administrative coordination. This role manages a high volume of technical and industrial hiring, builds scalable recruitment and onboarding processes, and partners closely with leaders across the business. The recruiter plays a key role in shaping the candidate experience, supporting employee lifecycle activities, and helping to formalize HR practices in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for approximately 5560 open positions across the organization, with a focus on technical and industrial roles.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, define candidate profiles, and prioritize hiring initiatives in line with organizational growth plans.
- Source, screen, and assess candidates using platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and applicant tracking systems.
- Review resumes, conduct initial phone or video screens, and evaluate candidates for technical fit, cultural alignment, and role suitability.
- Coordinate interviews by scheduling with hiring managers and interview panels, ensuring a smooth and timely process for candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Manage ongoing candidate communications, including interview confirmations, feedback, next steps, and offer discussions.
- Maintain an active talent pipeline for critical and high-volume hiring needs, particularly for project managers, engineers, quality production staff, shop employees, and technicians with electrical or technical backgrounds.
- Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, from initial contact through onboarding.
- Track recruitment metrics, hiring progress, and challenges, and provide regular updates to leadership and department heads.
- Prepare and administer employment offers, ensuring accuracy and consistency in offer letters and related documentation.
- Coordinate and deliver new hire onboarding and orientation programs, ensuring new employees receive the information, training, and resources they need to succeed.
- Facilitate mandatory health and safety training for new employees and support compliance with safety requirements.
- Support employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, internal transfers, and offboarding processes.
- Provide day-to-day HR support to leaders and employees, including responding to HR-related inquiries and assisting with HR administration.
- Quickly become familiar with existing HR, recruitment, and operational processes and understand how different departments manage their hiring and safety requirements.
- Assess current HR and recruitment workflows and identify opportunities to increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Support the rollout and execution of new HR and talent initiatives as they are developed, contributing to the evolution of HR practices within the organization.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to document, standardize, and improve HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle procedures.
- Help build scalable recruitment and onboarding practices to support organizational growth from approximately 80 to 120 employees.
- Take on increasing responsibility over time, including independently managing requisitions, sourcing strategies, and candidate pipelines once ramped up.
- Engage actively in interviews and onboarding from day one, with the expectation of independently finding candidates and gathering necessary information within a few weeks to one month.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of recruitment and talent acquisition experience in industrial, electrical, software, or engineering environments.
- Proven full-cycle recruiting experience, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and managing offers.
- Experience recruiting in technical or industrial environments, with comfort working on roles such as project managers, engineers, quality production staff, shop employees, and technicians.
- Hands-on experience with applicant tracking systems and HR systems (HRIS).
- Demonstrated ability to source candidates using platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed.
- Strong skills in screening resumes and assessing candidate qualifications and fit.
- Experience coordinating onboarding activities and administrative processes for new hires.
- Solid understanding of human resources administration and employee lifecycle processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to provide day-to-day HR support and handle administrative coordination in a structured and organized manner.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a very aggressive hiring timeline and high growth targets.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to existing HR, recruitment, and operational processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience recruiting project managers, engineers, quality production staff, shop employees, and technicians is an asset.
- Exposure to human resources management, including involvement in HR programs and policies, is preferred.
- Knowledge of WSIB procedures and experience supporting safety-related requirements is an advantage.
- Experience with employee relations, including supporting leaders and employees with HR-related issues, is beneficial.
- Background in technical recruiting, particularly for electrical or technical roles, is considered an asset.
- Interest in taking on broader HR responsibilities when recruitment volume decreases, including contributing to HR program development and process improvement.
- Ability to build strong relationships with department leaders and act as a trusted partner on hiring and HR matters.
- Comfort working in a growing organization without a fully established HR department, and willingness to help build structure and processes over time.
Work Environment
The organization operates in the data center industry and is heavily influenced by current investments in AI-driven data centers. It is experiencing rapid growth and plans to expand from approximately 80 to 120 employees by the middle of next year, hiring for 5560 new roles. There are three facilities: two located in Burlington, Ontario, and one near Tampa, Florida. The roles supported by this position include project managers, engineers, quality production staff, shop employees, and technicians with electrical technical backgrounds. The company culture is healthy, supportive, and retention-focused, with an average tenure of about five years among employees and five to ten years among senior staff. The management team is business-oriented and prefers to stay focused during work hours, while breaks and after-work gatherings offer a more social and friendly atmosphere. The shop environment has a positive vibe, with informal gestures such as employees bringing in donuts and coffee on Fridays. There is currently no dedicated HR department; HR-related tasks are handled by the head of purchasing and department leads, with each department responsible for its own safety and WSIB requirements. White-collar roles follow an in-office work policy with flexible hours, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., within operating hours of 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The preferred schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The recruiter will work on-site every day, with parking available on-site and a dedicated office or cubicle provided. The environment is fast-paced and growth-oriented, offering the opportunity to contribute from day one and grow with the organization over the long term.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $44.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
