Senior Warehouse Manager – Moving & Storage

Freedom Moving & Storage is seeking a hands-on Senior Warehouse Manager to lead warehouse operations at our growing Wayne, NJ location. This role combines day-to-day work on the warehouse floor with scheduling, planning, dispatching, and oversight of inventory, equipment, and safety.

Freedom has grown significantly as an agent for both Mayflower and United Van Lines. Our Wayne operation includes a 57,000-square-foot warehouse , and we have expanded with an additional 40,000 square feet of warehouse space .

What You'll Do

- Lead warehouse employees and stay actively involved in daily operations

- Manage inventory and help keep the facility organized and efficient

- Oversee fleet and equipment maintenance

- Coordinate scheduling, planning, and dispatching

- Maintain a safe workplace and work with the national safety department on DOT compliance

- Monitor operational costs and look for ways to improve efficiency

You can expect to spend approximately 70% of your time in the warehouse and 30% in the office . Schedule

Hours may vary with business needs. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 530 AM-330 PM or 8:00 AM-6:00 PM . You must also be available for late hours and weekend work, potentially twice per month.

What We're Looking For

- At least one year of experience as a Senior Warehouse Manager or three years as a Warehouse Manager

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- A hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

- Experience operating a forklift, especially a reach truck or cherry picker , is preferred.
