Systems Analyst II

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a talented Systems Analyst II to join our team in Houston, Texas.

Summary
The Systems Analyst II plans and facilitates the deployment of new business requests across the region while working closely with business, technical, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution and quality assurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Analyzes business functions in order to develop new or modified information processing systems.

- Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements.

- Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures.

- Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified business systems.

- Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications.

- Creates or assists others in the writing of user documentation, instructions, and procedures.

- Monitors and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests.

- Assist in quality assurance activities, including test documentation preparation and test execution.

- Examine/evaluate system or SOP failures.

- Understanding and implementation of setting changes and upgrades in the systems infrastructure

Requirements and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

- Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

- 6 to 9 years of experience as Systems Analyst

- Requirement gathering & Scope review

- Software/Hardware deployment planning

- Excel Proficiency

- High-level troubleshooting skills

- SQL scripting language knowledge (MSSQL)

- Network Architecture knowledge
