Sr QA Specialist

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Sr. Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to join our team in Orlando, FL.

Job Summary

The Sr QA Specialist is responsible for serving as a lead resource for one of two QA testing teams supporting field testing, commissioning, and quality assurance activities for tolling systems throughout Florida. This position coordinates testing personnel, schedules, and field activities; supports testing and commissioning efforts prior to lane openings; assists with employee training and development; and ensures testing activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. The position remains actively involved in field testing and commissioning activities while promoting testing readiness, quality standards, and operational performance.

Key Requirements

- Field-based role – Regular, in-person attendance is required at active project and test locations; occasional visits to the Orlando office may be required based on business needs.

- Ability to travel throughout Florida as required; a company vehicle will be provided while performing testing activities.

- Travel may include multiple consecutive days .

- Ability to work a flexible schedule , including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on testing schedules.

- Valid driver's license , safe driving record, and ability to meet company fleet and insurance requirements required.

- Ability to coordinate and provide day-to-day direction to assigned QA personnel while actively participating in testing and commissioning activities.

What You'll Be Doing

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on field work while leading and supporting a team in a fast-paced testing environment. In this role, you will regularly:

- Lead assigned QA testing and commissioning activities in the field.

- Coordinate the daily activities of QA Specialists and supporting personnel.

- Support tolling system testing, commissioning, and lane readiness activities .

- Work directly with drivers, technicians, agency representatives, and field personnel during testing operations.

- Support employee training, onboarding, and development.

- Assist with planning, scheduling, and execution of testing activities.

- Travel to project locations throughout Florida based on operational and testing requirements.

- Maintain active participation in field testing activities while ensuring quality, safety, and operational standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Serve as a lead resource for QA testing and commissioning activities and provide day-to-day coordination of assigned testing personnel.

- Coordinate daily work assignments, testing schedules, and field activities for assigned team members.

- Conduct field testing of tolling systems in test, staging, and live traffic environments.

- Coordinate and perform vehicle-based test runs with drivers, testing personnel, customers, agencies, and other stakeholders.

- Record, analyze, audit, and document testing results, toll transaction data, defects, issues, and operational concerns.

- Support the development and maintenance of testing plans, procedures, QA punch lists, installation status reports, and related documentation.

- Prepare reports and communicate testing progress, team performance, and project status using Microsoft Office and Smartsheet.

- Assist with the training, onboarding, and mentoring of QA personnel and provide input regarding employee performance as requested.

- Maintain testing equipment and company vehicles.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED preferred.

- Typically requires 5-8 years of relevant experience in testing, commissioning, technical operations, construction, traffic control, tolling, transportation, or similar field environments.

- Previous experience supervising employees, leading teams, projects, crews, or field operations preferred.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Smartsheet, and related business software.

- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to prioritize work, coordinate activities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to work independently with limited supervision while providing direction, coaching, and support to assigned team members.

- Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and ability to meet company fleet and insurance requirements.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

- Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

- Work performed near moving traffic, testing equipment, mechanical devices, and energized electrical equipment.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

- Frequent travel to project and testing locations throughout Florida.

- Supports critical tolling, testing, commissioning, and roadway operations prior to lane openings .
