Continuing along it highly successful growth trajectory, San Francisci Federal is seeking a Senior Commercial Loan Administrations Officer for our Oakland Branch.

The Position

The Commercial Loan Administration Officer manages the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of the Banks commercial loan portfolio throughout the full loan lifecycle—from closing and funding through servicing, payoff, and collateral release.

This role partners across Commercial Banking, Credit, Loan Documentation, Finance, Compliance, Legal, and external service providers to maintain strong documentation, accounting, collateral, insurance, and regulatory controls.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate loan closings, verify approval and documentation requirements, control funding, and accurately board new and modified commercial loans.

- Process payments, advances, construction draws, renewals, modifications, rate changes, payoffs, and other servicing transactions.

- Maintain complete loan files and accurate system records, while monitoring maturities, insurance, collateral, liens, and operational exceptions.

- Reconcile loan-related accounts, review transaction activity and control reports, investigate discrepancies, and ensure proper approvals and audit trails.

- Support audits, examinations, and compliance reviews; escalate material risks, suspected fraud, policy exceptions, and documentation or collateral deficiencies.

- Serve as an operational resource, provide guidance and quality-control support, and improve procedures, workflows, reporting, and system utilization.

Who Are You?

Required Qualifications

- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in commercial loan administration, operations, servicing, closing, documentation, or a related commercial banking function.

- Hands-on experience with commercial loan funding, boarding, servicing transactions, construction draws, payoffs, collateral administration, insurance tracking, lien perfection, and post-closing activities.

- Working knowledge of commercial loan products, documentation, accounting, operational controls, and account reconciliation.

- Proficiency with commercial loan systems, document-imaging tools, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with excellent accuracy, judgment, confidentiality, and follow-through.

- Ability to interpret credit approvals, loan documents, system reports, and accounting records while managing competing deadlines in a control-sensitive environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Seven or more years of commercial loan operations or credit administration experience in a community, regional, or commercial banking environment.

- Experience with participation or syndicated loans, SBA lending, asset-based lending, commercial real estate, or construction lending.

- Background in audits, examinations, quality control, training, workflow management, process improvement, or relevant industry coursework or certification.
