Your Team

The Cyber Security Architecture team is part of CFS's Cyber function and helps protect our customers, advisers, people and business by shaping secure, resilient technology outcomes across CFS.

The Senior Manager, Cyber Architecture helps protect CFS customers by leading security architecture and design assurance, ensuring technology solutions are secure by design, aligned to risk appetite and support operational resilience and regulatory obligations. You will lead security architecture and design assurance for CFS technology initiatives, ensuring solutions are secure by design, aligned to risk appetite and able to support customer trust, regulatory obligations and operational resilience.

Your Responsibilities

- Lead and support security architecture across enterprise technology initiatives, ensuring solutions align to CFS policies, standards, control library and risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain reusable security patterns, reference architectures and design guidance for cloud, identity, data, AI, SaaS, network, endpoint, logging, cryptography and third-party integrations.
- Provide architecture input and assurance for strategic programs.
- Embed secure-by-design practices into project lifecycles through early engagement, threat modelling, control mapping, design review and pragmatic risk-based recommendations.
- Support governance and assurance by producing clear architecture artefacts, decision records, exception rationale and evidence suitable for risk, audit, regulatory and board-level scrutiny.
- Partner with cyber operations to improve telemetry, logging, monitoring, incident response readiness and detection engineering outcomes.
- Influence technology and business stakeholders to improve security outcomes while enabling delivery, innovation and customer-focused transformation.
- Provide guidance to delivery partners, suppliers and contractors to ensure security architecture work is consistent, fit for purpose and effectively transitioned into BAU.
- Contribute to the ongoing uplift of cyber maturity, control effectiveness, security awareness and architecture capability across CFS.

Your Capability and Experience

- Strong experience in security architecture, cloud security, identity and access management, data protection and enterprise technology delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to design and assure secure solutions across cloud, SaaS, network, endpoint, application, data, AI and third-party environments.
- Practical knowledge of cyber security frameworks and regulatory expectations relevant to financial services, including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, Essential Eight, CPS 234, CPS 230 and privacy obligations.
- Experience working with modern security capabilities such as SIEM, MDR, EDR, CSPM, DLP, vulnerability management, external attack surface management, identity governance, MFA, privileged access and supplier assurance.
- Ability to translate complex cyber risks into clear architecture guidance, practical controls and business-aligned recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, consulting and influencing skills, with the ability to work across delivery teams, risk, technology, suppliers and senior stakeholders.
- Experience producing high-quality architecture artefacts, risk assessments, decision records, control mappings and assurance evidence.
- A delivery-focused mindset with a proven ability to balance security, risk, customer outcomes and delivery pace.
- Experience in financial services, superannuation, wealth management or another regulated environment.
