Tesla's Energy team is looking for a Head of Sales to own modules sales and partnerships for Tesla’s in-house solar products. This role will focus on utility, industrial, and other non-residential market segments, primarily in the US. This senior position carries significant growth targets that are aligned with Tesla’s massive domestic solar manufacturing ambitions (100GW/yr). This role will be responsible for driving transactions from initial engagement to contract execution, while collaborating with Tesla’s commercial and technical support organizations. Additionally, hiring, teambuilding, and scaling the sales organizations will be a key pillar of the role.
Define and drive the overarching sales strategy for module sales in the US Engage directly with utilities, developers, independent power producers, EPC partners, distributors, and other non-residential buyers to drive new business opportunities, build the sales pipeline, and find creative ways to fundamentally grow the US market size Lead the negotiation and execution of definitive supply agreements and other contractual agreements Build internal team processes, hire top-caliber sales professionals, scale the sales organization to match manufacturing ambitions Work with product, business development, and marketing teams to create competitive product positioning, sales collateral, and collaborate on overall marketing strategy
10+ years of experience in the utility-scale solar industry, including experience working for a module OEM, BoS OEM, inverter OEM, or developer/IPP Direct experience managing a sales pipeline, negotiating equipment contracts and/or master supply agreements, establishing and maintaining executive customer relationships Management experience with a 10+ person sales organization, including hiring, process development, and typical HR functions Understanding of utility-scale solar and solar+BESS system design, including technical and commercial trade-offs of various architectures Understanding of US tax policy impacts on project economics, including ITC/PTC structures and domestic content requirements Strong analytical skills — comfortable with technoeconomic modeling and presenting results clearly to customers and leadership Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to drive alignment across product, finance, legal, and other supporting teams

Expected Compensation $172,000 - $258,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
