What’s the role?

Join our Technology Business Control & Monitoring team and help shape a proactive approach to risk across Westpac's Technology Division.

As a Manager, Business, Controls & Monitoring, you'll play a key role in helping our teams understand, manage and respond to risk throughout the delivery of technology initiatives. You'll work closely with a broad range of stakeholders to embed strong risk practices, improve decision making and provide valuable insights that support safe and effective outcomes.

This is a full-time role based in Sydney / Warrane, Gadigal Country or Adelaide / Tarndanya, Kaurna Country, with hybrid working arrangements available.

You'll contribute to meaningful work across major technology programs, helping ensure risk management becomes part of everyday thinking rather than an afterthought. If you enjoy working in complex environments, influencing positive outcomes and turning insights into action, this could be the opportunity for you.

What do I need?

- Experience in technology risk, project risk, business controls, compliance, or operational risk within financial services or other complex regulated environments

- Strong understanding of technology risk management, controls, governance frameworks, and compliance obligations

- Experience supporting technology projects, transformation programs, or change initiatives, including identifying and managing delivery and delivered risks

- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide risk-informed advice and challenge across business and technology teams

- Experience facilitating risk forums, preparing governance materials, conducting root cause analysis, and supporting incident and issue management

- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex risk matters into clear, actionable insights

Experience with Agile delivery, Risk in Change, technology control environments, or first-line risk management practices will be highly regarded.
