Painter / Material Handler
Location: York, PA
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift Available
Pay: Up to $23.00/hour, depending on experience
2nd Shift Differential: +$3.00/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile Painter / Material Handler to support painting and production operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. Painting will make up approximately 20% of the role, so the ideal candidate should be comfortable performing a variety of shop duties, including material handling, overhead crane operation, loading, rigging, and measuring.
What You'll Do
- Perform industrial painting and related preparation work.
- Move materials using overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Load, unload, and position materials safely.
- Handle rigging for materials and equipment.
- Use a tape measure and other measuring tools accurately.
- Assist with production and general shop activities as needed.
- Complete required respiratory fit testing.
- Follow PPE, chemical-handling, and workplace safety procedures.
- Move between different tasks and work areas based on production needs.
What We're Looking For
- Previous industrial or production painting experience.
- Knowledge of painting techniques and proper application methods.
- Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, or similar industrial equipment.
- Background in rigging and material loading/unloading.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Ability to pass a respiratory fit test.
- Familiarity with industrial safety practices and PPE.
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working independently and with a team.
- Willingness to perform duties beyond painting in a fast-paced shop environment.
