About this role
Our mission at Les Nouvelles Recrues
We recruit you for who you are, not only for what's expected of you — and above all, we help you find THE role that fits YOU.
Today, we're recruiting a Motion Designer Freelance for our client, Chain of Events , the company behind the events where the people shaping technology actually meet — based in Paris.
About the company
Chain of Events runs three summits, all in Paris, all within the same week:
- Signal Week — the institutional summit for digital assets. Founded in 2019 as Paris Blockchain Week and elevated to Signal Week in 2026, it draws 10,000+ attendees from 100+ countries, roughly 70% of them C-suite. Its last edition convened 250+ banks and financial institutions, over $50T in assets under management, and 70 government officials and regulators — BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Fidelity, BNY Mellon, Citi, the London Stock Exchange, ESMA and the European Commission among them. The thesis: TradFi and digital assets are no longer two industries but one financial system being rebuilt on shared rails.
- RAISE Summit — the AI summit for decision-makers. Launched in 2024, it has grown from 2,000 to 9,000+ attendees across three editions (80%+ C-level, from 76 countries), with 350+ speakers spanning AI infrastructure, enterprise adoption, agentic systems, sovereignty and policy. The 2026 edition at the Carrousel du Louvre featured Mark Cuban, Yann LeCun and Nelson Griggs (Nasdaq), plus the Versailles AI Gala, the RAISE Hackathon and RAISE the STAKES (1,100+ startup applications in 2026).
- MACHINA Summit — Europe's leading event dedicated to Physical AI: intelligence that acts on the real world through humanoids, industrial robotics, autonomous systems and next-generation human–machine interfaces. Its inaugural 2026 edition brought together the labs building humanoids and the enterprises deploying robotics at scale, with speakers from Google DeepMind, Boston Dynamics, NVIDIA, 1X, Apptronik and Agility Robotics. It's the fastest-moving brand in the portfolio, with the most white space ahead of it.
In July 2026, all three brands were acquired by Hyve Group , the global B2B events organiser behind Fintech Meetup, HLTH and Shoptalk. In July 2027, they'll converge on the Palais des Congrès during the exact same week.
Role Overview
Chain of Events is looking for a Motion Designer to bring the RAISE Summit brand to life in motion, reporting into the Development Lead for RAISE and MACHINA and working closely with the Senior Brand Designer, the wider marketing team and the Marketing Lead for RAISE and MACHINA. This is a new, dedicated motion seat within the team - for someone who can build a motion language from a design system, then apply it at speed across speaker reveals, campaign assets, social content, website moments, and on-stage graphics.
The RAISE brand is being refreshed for 2027 around a new visual system and central graphic device, with a shift towards live speaker photography and a more editorial, premium feel. You'll help define how that system moves - the principles, templates, and toolkits - so that motion becomes consistent, fast, and scalable rather than bespoke every time. You'll also be one of the team's most confident users of AI video and image tools, pushing what's possible while keeping craft and brand quality at the centre.
Key Responsibilities
Motion System & Brand
- Supporting the build of the RAISE motion language - principles, timing, transitions, and type animation - as an extension of the design system, working with the Senior Brand Designer and external agencies.
- Build reusable motion templates and toolkits (speaker reveals, sponsor announcements, countdowns, lower thirds, social formats) so you and the social media team the wider team can produce on-brand motion at speed.
- Maintain an organised, well-documented motion asset library and connectors that others can use and build on.
Campaign & Content Production
- Produce animated assets across the campaign cycle - speaker and partner announcements, paid social ads, launch films, teasers, and recap edits.
- Create motion content for RAISE's social channels in platform-native formats and ratios.
- Deliver web motion for the RAISE website (e.g. Lottie or lightweight video), working with the web and development team.
- Handle quick-turnaround requests without letting the quality bar drop.
AI & Creative Technology
- Integrate AI video, image, and animation tools into the motion workflow - from concepting and storyboarding to generation, upscaling, and clean-up.
- Test new tools and models as they emerge, and recommend what the team should adopt, with a clear view on quality, usage rights, and brand fit.
- Contribute to the team's AI creative studio, helping turn approved assets into templates that produce on-brand outputs.
Event Delivery
- Design and deliver on-stage and on-screen motion for the event - stage loops, walk-on stings, holding screens, and venue screens - working with production and AV partners on specs and deadlines.
- Support same-day and post-event content during event week, turning captured footage into highlight edits and recap assets while the moment is still live.
What You'll Bring
Experience & Knowledge
- Solid experience as a motion designer, in-house or agency, with a strong portfolio of brand and campaign work (indicative: 3+ years).
- Expert-level After Effects, confident in Premiere Pro, and comfortable working from Figma file
- Proven experience building motion systems and templates - not just one-off pieces - ideally from an existing brand identity.
- Strong typographic and compositional sense, with an eye for premium, editorial brand work.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI video and image tools, with hands-on experience integrating them into a professional workflow.
- 3D experience (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar).
Working Style
- Ambitious about the craft - you want your work to set the standard for the brand.
- Fast and organised, able to balance a campaign pipeline with quick-turnaround requests.
- Easy-going and collaborative, comfortable giving and receiving creative feedback.
- Proactive - you spot opportunities for motion and bring ideas, rather than waiting for the brief.
- Calm and effective under pressure, particularly in the weeks before and during the event.
Nice to Have
- Experience in events, conferences, live broadcast, or stage and screen content.
- Web motion experience (Lottie, Rive, or front-end animation handoff).
- Sound design and basic audio editing.
Recruitment process
- Screening Interview (30 min): first conversation about your background and motivations.
- Hiring Manager Interview (30 min): deep-dive with the hiring manager on the role and your experience.
- Use Case (60–90 min): a practical exercise, presented and discussed with the team.
- CEO + HR Call (15-30min)
Working Environment
This role sits within a fast-paced, high-energy marketing team supporting some of Europe's leading AI and technology summits. Social moves quickly, and so does the event cycle - expect steady weeks of planning and creation alongside busy peaks around announcements, launches, and side events. The ability to stay organised, communicate clearly, and keep your creative standard high under pressure is essential.
