Role Overview

In support of the national response to the New World Screwworm (NWS) re-incursion,  Flyttr is rapidly establishing
operations in a n R&D facility and standing-up
a modular sterile fly production facility in San Antonio, Texas.

As a Project Manager , you will play a critical role in delivering strategically important infrastructure
and the biological solutions that will support the national NWS response. You will c oordinat e cross-functional teams, manag e project plans, and driv e execution against scope, schedule, and budget. W ork ing
effectively with internal and external stakeholders , you will own the integrated project sc hedule , proactively identify and manage risks and issues , and provide clear, actionable updates to the Global Program Manager and Executive L eadership Team , with strong matrixed engagement with the NWS Program Director .

Success in this role requires strong technical project management experience, excellent organization al and communication skills, and the ability to translate complex technical information into concise executive-level reporting. Experience supporting technology development programs is essential, while familiarity with construction projects is highly desirable. You will also develop and monitor project budgets, helping to ensure project objectives are achieved efficiently, on schedule and within budget .

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

- Develop, maintain , and manage integrated project plans, schedules, and milestones to ensure successful project execution.

- Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.

- Identify , assess, and proactively manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.

- Monitor critical path activities and implement mitigation plans to address schedule risks.

- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with program requirements.

- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and decision-making forums, ensuring actions are documented and tracked to completion.

- Track project progress and communicate status, risks, issues, and key decisions to stakeholders and senior leadership.

- Support scope definition, change management, and project governance processes.

Cross-functional and Stakeholder Collaboration

- Coordinate cross-functional internal teams, contractors, vendors, and external partners to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project activities.

- Partner with technical, scientific, engineering, operations, regulatory, quality and construction teams to integrate activities across multiple workstreams.

- Support facility design, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities, as applicable.

Project  Reporting and Documentation

- Establish and maintain project performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools.

- Translate complex technical information into clear, concise reports and presentations for executive and non-technical audiences.

- Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate , and maintained in accordance with organizational standards.

Compliance and Best Practi c e

- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, safety, data security, and organizational requirements.

- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and best practices.

- Travel to Flyttr’s global sites maybe required to support project teams.

Required

- Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, technical, or related discipline.

- 5+ years of project management experience leading complex, cross-functional projects.

- Experience supporting biotechnology, life sciences, manufacturing, or research and development programs.

- Proven experience developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, budgets, and risk registers.

- Experience managing vendors, contractors, and external partners.

- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English , including executive-level reporting.

- Excellent problems solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced global environment with cross-cultural sensitivity.

- Comply with all applicable health and safety policies, procedures, and site requirements, including laboratory safety and biosafety protocols.

Preferred

- PMP certification.

- Experience supporting facility design, construction, commissioning, or startup projects.

- E xperience working in biosecurity, biological control, pest control , public health
or the agritech sector .

- Experience working in regulated environments.

- Experience with  defence - or federally-funded programs.
