About this role
Responsible for performing designated duties in the Concrete casting department following VFP guidelines to construct our concrete buildings in an efficient and timely manner.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings/prints for construction of concrete shelters
- Understanding Casting procedures and training
- Rakes or vibrates concrete as needed
- Assist in achieving a high-quality finish on concrete panels e.g. slick, float, brush, and exposed
- Assist in removing panels from molds
- Cover panels With Plastic and blanket after pour
- Operates and Clean Screens
- Slicks, breaks down, and fills block forms with excessive concrete
- Operate and maintain concrete equipment such as automatic screed, vibrator, and electric/air hand tools
- Operates pressure washer as needed
- Always follow all departmental and company safety rules
- Maintain good housekeeping practices by keeping work area neat and clean
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to solve problems in a variety of standardized situations
- Knowledge of basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Ability to read blueprints and a ruler
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED).
- Minimum of one year concrete or casting experience
