About this role

Supports Engineering department by administering all Engineering data bases and logs as they pertain to State Approvals. Monitors and ensures that all drawings/calculation documentation and paperwork comply with the various states and third-party agency requirements, as well as assisting the in-house PE with all license requirements. The Engineering Technician- State Approval Document Control Specialist also works closely with Engineering, Marketing and production managers to resolve production documentation issues.

Essential Job Functions:

- Under direction from the Engineering managers maintains any and all projects that require State Approval.

- Ensures all drawings/calculations & required paperwork complies with the state and any third-party requirements.

- Provides information such as drawings and calculations to third-parties for their review approval.

- Tracks all job-related issues as they pertain to the various state submissions and maintains tracking sheets as to their status.

- Maintains all related document control and logs.

- Tracks jobs through the checking process.

- Checks and maintains all code updates in state directory and informs Engineering/Marketing on any State Code updates and expirations.

- Contacts third-party agencies to check on drawing approval status and/or additional requirements.

- Performs ComCheck, Energy/HVAC Calcs as required.

- Performs other duties as required by manager

Qualifications

- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED).

- 1-3 years Engineering Experience required

- Valid Driver's License

- Familiarity with technical drawings and information. Good verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity on a day-to-day basis.
