Senior Software Engineer - eCommerce (M/F/D)

What this role is about

As a Technical Owner of a Crew, you take technical responsibility for the development, operation, and continuous further development of digital products and applications. Your focus is on the implementation of modern Mobile, Web, and Backend solutions that directly contribute to customer experience and business success. You ensure that architecture, software quality, technical standards, and platform strategies sustainably support the requirements of Business and Product and can scale over the long term.

You connect Business goals, Product requirements, and technical implementation. Together with Product Owners, Business Stakeholders, and Engineers, you develop solutions that are compelling from a customer perspective while remaining technically robust, performant, and maintainable.

Your day-to-day work

- You are responsible for the technical architecture and further development of your Crew's Mobile Apps, Web Applications, and Backend Services
- You define technical guardrails and ensure consistent implementation across the entire Software Lifecycle
- You make and represent technical decisions regarding architecture, scalability, security, performance, and maintainability
- You translate Business and Product requirements into sustainable technical solutions and prioritize technical initiatives together with the Product Owner
- You support the Crew in implementing complex requirements in modern App and Cloud Environments
- You work closely with Product Owners, UX/UI, Business Stakeholders, and other Engineering Teams and bring the technical perspective into strategic decisions
- You drive Engineering Excellence through Best Practices, Coding Standards, automated testing, CI/CD Pipelines, and modern development processes
- You ensure that Mobile Apps and Web Applications meet the highest standards in user experience, stability, security, and performance
- You identify technical risks early and initiate appropriate measures to secure product quality and delivery capability
- You support the technical development of your colleagues through mentoring, sparring, and knowledge sharing

What you should bring

- Several years of experience in the development and operation of modern software solutions, ideally in an App, E-Commerce, or Platform environment
- Strong knowledge of Mobile App development (iOS and/or Android), Web Applications, and Backend Systems
- Very good understanding of scalable software architectures, API design, Cloud Platforms (ideally GCP), and modern deployment and operating models
- Experience with CI/CD, test automation, Observability, and modern Engineering Practices
- A strong Software Engineering background and the ability to evaluate technical solution approaches holistically
- Experience in the technical leadership of technical topics as well as coaching Developers and Engineers
- Strong understanding of the connection between technology, user experience, business value, and product strategy
- Experience with E-Commerce, Marketplace, or Platform solutions, ideally with Mirakl and commercetools
- Experience in an E-Commerce, Retail, or Digital Product environment is a plus
