About this role

ABOUT DI

At Dimensional Innovations (DI), were Designers, Makers, Engineers, Developers, Strategists and Innovators working together to create remarkable experiences, places and products.

Our work lives at the intersection of design, technology and fabrication. From immersive brand experiences and interactive technology to sports venues, museums, corporate environments and destinations, we bring big ideas to life—all under one roof at our Kansas City-area headquarters.

ABOUT OUR SUMMER INTERNSHIP

At DI, an internship isn't about sitting on the sidelines.

Youll become part of the team, contribute to real client work and get a firsthand look at how ideas move from strategy and design through development, fabrication and installation—and see different disciplines come together to create something remarkable.

Throughout the summer, you'll build practical skills, learn from experienced mentors, make connections across DI and leave with an experience you can take back to school and into your career. You'll work hard, learn a lot and have some fun along the way.

MARKETING INTERN SUMMARY

DI creates some pretty remarkable things. The Marketing team's job is to make sure people know about them.

As a Marketing Intern, you'll work alongside DI's Marketing team to help tell the stories behind our projects, people, capabilities and culture. You'll contribute to marketing initiatives across channels like social media, email, web, internal communications, events and sales collateral while learning how a creative company builds and communicates its brand.

You'll help us find interesting ways to turn what's happening across DI into content that gets noticed and remembered—whether that's showcasing a finished client experience, capturing what's being built in our shop or helping tell the stories of the people behind the work.

This is a fast-moving team, so you'll also get experience responding to the real-time needs that come with marketing a growing, creative business.

WHAT YOULL GET TO WORK ON

- Create content highlighting DI projects, people, capabilities and culture

- Write and edit copy for social media, email, web, internal communications and marketing materials

- Help plan and develop evergreen, campaign and real-time social content

- Track and report on email and social media performance, using data-driven insights to inform content strategy and improve engagement

- Capture and develop photo, video and behind-the-scenes content from around DI

- Support website updates, email marketing and other digital initiatives

- Create collateral and content that supports Marketing, Sales and the client experience

- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for new campaigns and stories

- Jump in on evolving marketing needs, events and opportunities throughout the summer

WHO WERE LOOKING FOR

You don't need to have your entire marketing career figured out yet—that's why you're here. We're looking for someone who is curious, creative and excited to learn by actually doing the work.

You'll be most successful if you bring:

- Strong writing, copywriting, proofreading and editing skills

- An interest in content creation, storytelling, social media and brand marketing

- Curiosity about different content platforms and how brands communicate across them

- Strong creative instincts and a willingness to approach challenges from different angles

- Experience collaborating with others and contributing your ideas

- The ability to manage deadlines, stay organized and pay attention to the details

- A willingness to adapt as priorities and needs change

- A self-starter mentality and the confidence to jump in where needed

- Comfort trying something new, learning from what doesn't work and moving forward

- Strong communication and project management skills

- Photography, videography, video editing, vlogging or other visual content creation experience is a plus

- Students pursuing Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business Administration or a related field are encouraged to apply

Your portfolio can include:

- Writing or copywriting samples

- Social media content

- Marketing or advertising campaigns

- Email or digital content

- Photography or videography

- Short-form video or other social content

- Graphic or visual content

- Student organization or event marketing

- Personal projects, blogs or other examples of storytelling

We're interested in seeing both what you can create and how you think about communicating with an audience.

WHAT YOULL LEARN

By the end of the summer, you'll have greater exposure to:

- Creating content for real audiences across social, email, web and internal channels

- Writing and adapting copy for different audiences, platforms and purposes

- Turning complex projects and ideas into compelling stories

- Building and maintaining a consistent brand voice

- Taking content from idea through creation, review and publication

- Supporting integrated campaigns and broader business goals

- Collaborating with Marketing, Sales, creative teams and subject matter experts

- Receiving feedback, refining your work and adapting as priorities change

WHY YOULL LOVE DI

Real work. You'll create content and support marketing initiatives that actually represent DI—not hypothetical intern assignments.

Market something worth talking about. Professional sports venues, museums, immersive experiences, interactive technology and one-of-a-kind fabrication give you plenty of interesting stories to tell.

Your content is all around you. With designers, engineers, developers and fabricators working under one roof, you can walk through the building and see projects and stories taking shape in real time.

Build a well-rounded marketing toolkit. You'll get exposure to social media, copywriting, email, web, internal communications, events, sales support and visual content instead of spending your entire summer focused on one channel.

Bring your ideas. Interns aren't expected to sit quietly and take notes. We want you to ask questions, contribute ideas and bring a new perspective to the team.

Built-in mentorship. You'll work alongside experienced marketing and creative professionals who can provide feedback, challenge your thinking and help you grow your skills.

Employee-owned. DI is an ESOP company, which means our employees share in the success of the company and bring an owner's mindset to the work we do.

A summer that's more than work. You'll also have opportunities to connect with fellow interns and DI employees through intern events, activities and experiences throughout the summer.
