About the Opportunity
Looking for a steady job with room to grow? Our client, a premier wood products manufacturer in the Portland metro area, is seeking a motivated Packaging Associate to join their team. This position plays a vital role in daily operations, offering dynamic hands-on experience in order pulling, packaging, and shipping preparation within a safe and supportive environment.
Pay: $18.00/hr to start (more after probation period)
Schedule: Swing: 2:00pm-10:30pm
Location: North Plains (NOT public transit accessible)
Key Responsibilities Order Pulling & Sorting: Pull lumber products off the line/chain, sorting and stacking materials accurately based on order specifications. Packaging & Labeling: Securely bundle, wrap, and package finished products, applying accurate barcodes and tags for shipment. Helping prep trucks to go out with covers as needed. Shipping Prep & Documentation: Assist with preparing shipments and verifying order counts. Quality & Safety: Inspect outbound materials for quality and damage, maintain an organized workspace, wear required PPE, and follow safety protocols at all times . Cleaning : Help clean the production and shipping areas as needed.
Qualifications Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure. 6 months or more of warehouse, shipping, or packaging experience preferred (entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply). Basic computer skills for basic data entry and document printing. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand 8–10 hours a day, and perform physical tasks (bending, reaching, stooping). Strong attention to detail and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with variable outdoor temperatures and loud conditions.
