Test Equipment Engineering & Maintenance Intern
The Test Equipment Engineering & Maintenance Intern will be responsible for troubleshooting electronic assemblies and systems, identifying defect trends, finding root causes and maintaining equipment reliability. This role requires interacting with various groups including quality assurance, design engineering, production and Maintenance, working on common goal of creating outstanding quality products and increasing test equipment reliability. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent interpersonal skills. The position reports to the Manager - Test Equipment Engineering & Maintenance.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Troubleshooting electronics to component level. Read and interpret schematics and datasheets.
- Investigate root cause and propose solutions.
- Enter defects and repair data into asset management database.
- Perform mechanical assembly and wiring following provided drawings and schematics.
- Ability to write test software a plus.
- Configuration of replacement PCs for existing test systems.
- Implement upgrades or assist in redesigning current test systems.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
- In-progress degree program from an accredited university/college program with a concentration in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering, or related field and returning to school full-time after the work session.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a service-oriented environment.
- Solid understanding of lab test and measurement instrumentation.
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuit theory and principles.
- Computer skills - MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings.
