Essential Functions Operate dual-action sanders, electric grinders, and high-speed grinders with meticulous detail to smooth out all crevices and flawed areas on trailers. Operate hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, torque wrenches, power bleeders and files. Inspect and feel workpieces to ensure surfaces meet quality standards. Bleed brakes with accuracy by following manuals and work instructions. Use measuring tapes, combination squares, and levels. Maintain, organize, and clean workstation and equipment (e.g., change grinding pads). Comply with safety regulations and PPE requirements (e.g., gloves, face shields, steel toe shoes). Be an inspiring example of the company’s mission by consistently providing quality results. Ensure all actions are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Complete other duties and cross-training activities as assigned.
Additional Duties Work daily overtime, when required, to complete the day’s scheduled assignments. Cross-train in other departments to be able to assist where and when needed.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Six (6) months grinding experience preferred
Specialized Knowledge Knowledge, recognition and use of hand and power tools Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications
Competencies Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and job duties Willingness to help where and when needed, beyond the scope of normal day-to-day duties Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and interpret written instructions
        Physical Requirements Ability to see small details at close range Ability to quickly move your hands, arms, or fingers to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects Balance and flexibility, with an ability to safely navigate over and around equipment and tools Ability to work in varied positions (e.g., overhead, flat, and vertical work) Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and squatting Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $17.10 - $18.61 Per Hour
