Hunton Trane is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Startup and Warranty Operations Manager to lead the office-based operations of the Commercial HVAC Startup and Warranty team. This position is directly responsible for team leadership, departmental financial performance, customer satisfaction, safety compliance, and process improvement. The selected candidate will support a team of field technicians and office administrators by establishing clear priorities, monitoring performance, coordinating resources, and ensuring the successful management of technician scheduling, workloads, startup requests, and warranty administration. The ideal candidate will identify key strategies for operating a successful service business while implementing effective tactics, performance metrics, resources, countermeasures, and risk-mitigation practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure startup and warranty requests, and completion timelines are achieved.

- Lead the Coordination and scheduling of HVAC technicians to optimize productivity, meet customer commitments, and minimize response times.

- Establish performance goals, provide routine feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and support accountability across the team.

- Retain, coach, and develop field technicians and office administrators, including coordinating training based on operational and technical needs.

- Establish and monitor departmental key performance indicators, including utilization, productivity, response time, completion rate, callbacks, and customer satisfaction.

- Own departmental financial performance, including labor utilization, executed gross margin, margin slippage, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Forecast workload and manpower needs and coordinate staffing and resources based on customer demand and upcoming project schedules.

- Oversee warranty administration, including claims, labor, parts, manufacturer coordination, resolution timelines, and required documentation.

- Partner with project managers, sales, service, manufacturers, vendors, and customers to resolve scheduling, documentation, warranty, and other operational concerns.

- Serve as an escalation point for customer concerns and coordinate timely resolution with the appropriate technical teams.

- Communicate departmental financial milestones, forecasts, risks, resource needs, and open issues clearly to Hunton Trane leadership and other stakeholders.

- Participate in customer coordination meetings, progress reporting, and client updates as needed.

- Improve departmental procedures, workflows, and reporting practices to increase efficiency, consistency, and accountability.

- Monitor safety compliance, quality-control processes, recurring equipment concerns, callbacks, and warranty trends, and coordinate corrective actions with the appropriate teams.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Five or more years of relevant commercial HVAC equipment, service, startup, warranty, or operations experience.

- Previous experience supervising field technicians, coordinators, dispatchers, or administrative employees.

- Experience with technician scheduling, workload management, resource planning, and service operations.

- Experience managing departmental financial performance, forecasts, gross margin, and labor utilization.

- Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, startup and warranty processes, and building automation systems.

- Experience establishing, monitoring, and reporting operational performance metrics, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and applicable service-management, scheduling, project-management, or ERP systems.

- Excellent communication, coordination, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on safety, quality, customer service, and operational reliability.
