We're looking for a Safety & Compliance Supervisor to lead GMP cleaning teams while owning site-level safety, documentation compliance, training, and inspection readiness. This hands-on role partners with Operations, Quality, EHS, customers, and frontline teams to ensure work is performed safely, consistently, and in compliance with GMP, client standards, and ALCOA+ data integrity principles .
Reports to: Operations Manager
Direct Reports: GMP Cleaning Personnel and assigned support staff
FLSA: Exempt
Schedule: Hybrid; day and swing shifts, with occasional nights and weekends based on staffing and production needs.
What You'll Do
Supervision & Daily Operations
- Supervise GMP cleaning personnel and assigned support staff.
- Plan daily work, staffing, shift coverage, overtime, and time-off schedules.
- Lead onboarding, training, and competency requirements.
- Coach, mentor, and provide performance feedback.
- Address performance issues through coaching, retraining, and corrective action with Operations and HR.
- Lead daily shift meetings, quality discussions, and safety briefings.
- Identify and escalate operational, staffing, safety, quality, and compliance risks.
Quality & Documentation
In a GMP environment, details matter.
- Maintain GMP cleaning records, logbooks, and controlled documents.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, secure, and compliant with GxP, client requirements, and ALCOA+ principles .
- Train employees on Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and site requirements.
- Review documentation trends and correct recurring errors or deficiencies.
- Support investigations of documentation errors and noncompliance.
- Implement and track assigned Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) .
- Support audits, client inspections, and regulatory assessments.
- Ensure records are properly submitted, reconciled, retained, and archived.
- Improve documentation systems, data integrity, and inspection readiness.
Safety & EHS

- Deliver required safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
- Maintain safety/GMP training matrices, records, and communication boards.
- Conduct workplace inspections, safety observations, and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards, unsafe behaviors, and compliance gaps; assign, track, and verify corrective actions.
- Enforce PPE, chemical handling, and safe work practices.
- Monitor chemical labeling, SDS availability, and chemical storage.
- Ensure incidents, injuries, and near-misses are promptly reported and support preliminary investigations.
- Maintain required EHS records, incident logs, and inspection documentation.
- Stop work when an immediate safety or contamination risk is identified and escalate immediately.
- Promote green-cleaning practices and proper chemical dilution to protect employees, customers, and indoor air quality.
Communication & Leadership
- Communicate clearly with employees, leadership, customers, Quality, and EHS.
- Reinforce operational priorities, performance standards, GMP requirements, safety expectations, and contamination-control practices.
- Address employee concerns fairly, respectfully, and consistently.
- Model professionalism, integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and GMP-appropriate behavior.
- Support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in janitorial, facilities, environmental services, manufacturing support, or related industry, including at least 1 year in a GMP environment .
- Knowledge of workplace safety, hazard recognition, PPE, chemical safety, incident reporting, and emergency response.
- Working knowledge of GMP documentation and data integrity requirements.
- Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply SOPs, policies, work instructions, safety procedures, and customer requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and documentation, reporting, training, and recordkeeping systems.
- Ability to support multi-shift operations, including days, nights, and weekends as needed.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Safety, Environmental Science, Life Sciences, Business, or related field.
- Supervisory or lead experience in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Experience with audits, regulatory inspections, CAPA, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing training and employee performance.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
- Bilingual English/Spanish, including reading, writing, and speaking.
What the Job Looks Like
This is a hands-on, field-focused leadership role . You'll spend time on the floor conducting inspections, reviewing documentation, observing work practices, coaching employees, and ensuring Verde standards are followed.
Physical Requirements
Constantly: Hear and speak with employees, customers, and site teams, including in noisy environments and emergencies.
Frequently: Stand and walk during shift oversight and inspections; use vision to review records and identify hazards, quality issues, and chemical labeling; use computers and handheld devices.
Occasionally: Climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, demonstrate cleaning techniques, push/pull carts and equipment, and lift/carry up to 25 pounds .
Work Environment
- Office, warehouse, manufacturing, and GMP/cleanroom environments.
- Must follow site-specific gowning procedures and PPE requirements, including cleanroom garments, safety glasses, gloves, hairnets, safety footwear, and hearing protection as applicable.
- May encounter cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, dust, noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Flexible schedule supporting day and swing shifts, with occasional nights and weekends.
